Belfast-based tech start-up Regtick has revealed plans to create 30 new jobs following the closure of its £1m seed funding round.

Roles currently available on Regtick’s website include senior DevOps engineer, senior front end developer and senior back end developer. These roles come with work from home and hybrid options.

The company has created a governance, risk and compliance platform for the financial services, health and insurance sectors. It uses visually intuitive technology to help clients keep track of their complex regulatory and compliance programmes.

The platform was designed with organisations with distributed teams in mind. It aims to make it easier for people to work collaboratively on tasks, allowing team members from all locations to collaborate together and save time.

Regtick’s co-founder and CEO, Gary Lyons, said the funding would enable the company to grow its tech team, as well as develop new products for its clients.

Regtick’s seed funding investment came courtesy of Newry businessman Tom O’Gorman. O’Gorman has joined the start-up’s team as its chairperson.

Lyons said that O’Gorman’s interest would bring “considerable business acumen and experience” to its management team.

“We now look forward to accelerating our discussions with customers in our target global export markets and we are very much looking forward to exporting Regtick’s SaaS platform across the world stage,” Lyons added.

He also said paid tribute to Invest NI, TechStartNI and Regtick’s legal team at Shoosmiths for their support and guidance so far.

Lyons co-founded Regtick with fellow Northern Ireland man Gerry Murtagh, who serves as the company’s chief technology officer.

Last November, Regtick was one of several start-ups which competed as part of a pitch event centred around the future of work and hybrid working organised by Startacus called Work: In Progress.
