Sony has just launched its new flagship smartphone, and the company is sweetening the deal by throwing in a pair of top-class headphones at no extra cost.

Anyone who pre-orders the Xperia 1 VI from Sony’s website by 5 June will get the WH-1000XM5 headphones for free. They usually cost £319, so it’s a superb offer.

If that wasn’t enough, you can also get 50% off the phone’s official Style Cover with Stand, reducing it from the usual £34.99 to just £17.50.

The Xperia 1 VI costs the same £1,299 as its predecessor, the Xperia 1 V, but it has a lot more mainstream appeal.

The ultra-narrow design has been replaced with something much more in-keeping with other Android smartphones, while the OLED display’s new adaptive refresh rate should help battery life – Sony says you can get up to two days on a single charge.

Elsewhere, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will ensure top-tier performance, while advanced cameras include a telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom.
