When is the next Apple event?on September 12, 2023 at 20:05 Tech Advisor

Apple’s September 2023 event has come and gone, and there were some big announcements.

The iPhone 15 range was the headline news, with four new models and plenty of upgrades. But we also got the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2.

But when might the next one be? It’s reasonable to not expect any more events this year, but there looks to be plenty on the horizon in 2024. Here’s everything we know about the next Apple event at this stage.

When will the next Apple event take place?

It’s not been confirmed, but Apple’s event on 12 September was probably its last of the year. A repeat of 2020 (which had two separate events after the September one) feels very unlikely.

While Apple did announce new products in January 2023, it usually waits until at least spring for a dedicated event. In 2021, there was one on 20 April, while 2022 saw an 8 March event.

It remains to be seen whether we’ll even see a spring event – there wasn’t one in 2023. If not, the next launch event is almost certain to be WWDC, which usually takes place in June.

What will Apple announce at its next event?

Regardless of when the event takes place, plenty of products are rumoured to be announced in 2024. While the iPhone 16 and new Apple Watches are likely to be later in the year, it’s possible everything Apple didn’t announce at the iPhone 15 event could arrive.

That includes a new iPad Pro, iPad mini, MacBook Air and AirPods. Regular, Pro, Lite and Max models of the latter are all possible.

We could also see a new regular iPad, updated iMac and new Apple TV. An update to the HomePod 2 isn’t expected anytime soon, but a new version of the HomePod mini is possible.

And of course, the Apple Vision Pro is already confirmed to go on sale in early 2024. A specific release date may be revealed at the next event.

If the next event turns out to be WWDC, software will be on the agenda. The likes of iOS 18, watchOS 11 and a new version of macOS are all likely to be previewed.
