When awards season rolls around, they don’t come any bigger than the Oscars, which is the de facto gold standard for Hollywood’s best movies.

The 95th Academy Awards will take place this spring, and Everything Everywhere All At Once is up for the most awards with a total of 11 nods. Here is when the Oscars airs and how to watch it from the US and UK.

When are the 2023 Oscars?

The 2023 Academy Awards are currently scheduled to be held in Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre on Sunday 12 March 2023, with exact timings to be revealed.

It will be broadcast on TV and around the world. 2023 marks 95 years of the awards ceremony – you can watch a tribute video to the show below, with numerous famous faces:

Which channel is the Oscars on?

If you’re in the US, the Oscars will air on ABC.

In the UK, no plans have yet been confirmed. However, in previous years the sub-channel Sky Cinema Oscars (channel 302) airs the ceremony, as well as red carpet coverage.

This is then usually followed by a highlights reel on Sky Max the evening after. We will confirm the UK broadcasting plans closer to the time.

If you’re not already a Sky Cinema customer, you can sign up on Sky’s website. Otherwise, you might be better off watching it online through Now – more on that next.

How to watch the Oscars online

US viewers who won’t be near a TV have an easy option – head to the ABC website to stream the whole show live or watch it through the ABC app. Hulu Live TV and YouTube TV will also be streaming the show.

UK viewers will likely be able to watch the show via Sky’s Now Cinema Membership, which costs £9.99 per month. Again, we will confirm if this is still the case closer to the time.

Who is hosting the 2023 Oscars?

Jimmy Kimmel will be back to host the ceremony for a third time. He previously hosted in 2017 and 2018.
