At Tech Advisor we keep track of prices all year round, so we know when a deal is a deal. And we’ll tell you when we’ve seen a certain product at a lower price.
At their normal prices Fire TV Sticks are affordable, but everyone loves a bargain.
And the good news is that Amazon’s media streaming devices – better known as Fire Sticks – are discounted fairly regularly.
Fire Sticks, or Fire TV Sticks to give them their proper name, plug into your TV and let you watch Prime Video, Disney+, Netflix and many other streaming services besides. They also have Alexa built in, so you can ask the virtual assistant to find shows, control playback, and do many other things, including controlling smart home devices.
The best time to get a Fire Stick at a cheap price is on Prime Day, Amazon’s two-day sale event which – in 2022 at least – it held twice. It also discounts its hardware for seasonal events such as Black Friday and Christmas holidays. We expect the next Prime Day to be in June/July 2023.
Non-Prime members will see the regular prices for discounted devices on Prime Day, but that doesn’t always apply to Amazon’s own devices, which have been discounted for everyone in the past. However, you can get a free 30-day trial if you haven’t subscribed to Prime before and then you’ll be able to take advantage of all discounts.
At the same time Fire Sticks are on offer, there are usually some great deals on Amazon Echos, and Amazon’s Ring security devices which are well worth a look.
Prime Day Fire Stick deals in the US
Amazon Fire TV Stick (3rd gen)
This is the latest generation of the Fire Stick that’s 50% more powerful than the 2nd-gen model.
It comes with the 3rd-gen Alexa remote that includes shortcut buttons for streaming services, and extra buttons for controlling your TV.
It’s usually $39.99 but this deal – available to everyone, not just Prime members – makes it half that price.
Amazon Fire TV Cube
Ok, it isn’t a stick as such, but the Fire TV Cube doubles as a hands-free Alexa smart speaker even when your TV’s off – something the Fire Stick cannot do.

Usually it’s $119.99 – over twice the price of even the Fire TV Stick 4K Max – but this deal knocks half off that to make it $59.99.
Insignia Class F20 Series
If you need a cheap smart TV for somewhere like a kitchen or kid’s room then this is an absolute bargain.
It’s 32in and only 720p resolution but it’s under $100! And you can also get $90 off the 39in size. This is not a Prime exclusive deal.
Amazon Fire TV 50in 4-Series 4K TV
It’s a 4K TV with a Fire Stick built-in, made by Amazon. This is the 50in model, but there are also 43in and 55in sizes. They’re all discounted, but the 50in has the biggest savings today with 26% off (the 55in was discounted by 31% yesterday, but now has only 17% off).
These aren’t the biggest discounts we’ve ever seen on Amazon’s own-brand TVs, but they are still good deals if you desperately need a new TV.
The 4-Series is the most affordable of Amazon’s three TV lines and doesn’t have hands-free voice control or two-way video calling like the Omni range.
Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K
The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and it comes with an Alexa Voice Remote; it’s an incredible value at $24.99 – cheaper than the Fire TV Stick Lite’s regular price.
Amazon Fire TV 50in Omni Series 4K TV
You need to be an Amazon Prime Member to get the biggest discounts on the 65- and 75in TVs.
Amazon’s top-of-the-range smart TV with Alexa and Fire TV built in. The Omi series comes in 43, 50, 55, 65 and 75in sizes and all have hands-free voice control.
You can also use it for video calls if you buy a compatible webcam as there isn’t one built in.
It’s a 4K HDR TV that supports Dolby Vision and has the same interface as a Fire TV Stick.
All sizes are discounted, but the 50in is the best deal right now.
Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max
This is the most powerful Fire Stick available – 40% more so than the Fire TV Stick 4K – and it has Wi-Fi 6 for a faster connection speed.
It’s pretty new, and this is the cheapest price we’ve seen Amazon sell it for. A great deal.
Prime Day Fire Stick deals in the UK
Amazon Fire TV Stick (3rd gen)
The latest-generation Fire TV Stick is 50% more powerful than the 2019 second-gen model and has the new 3rd-gen Alexa remote with useful extra buttons.
This early Prime Day deal knocks £15 off the usual price, but remember that you don’t need to be a Prime member to get the discount.
Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K
The Fire TV Stick 4K, unlike the regular and Lite sticks, can stream 4K video, so it’s the one you want if you have a 4K TV.
And at this price, with £20 off, it’s a great time to buy one.
Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite
The Fire Stick Lite is Amazon’s cheapest media streamer but still has Alexa built-in and offers access to many streaming services including Amazon’s Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ and lots more.
Normally £29.99, this deal knocks a third off. However, for an extra fiver, you may prefer to opt for the 3rd-gen Fire TV Stick which comes with a better remote control and is more powerful.
Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max
The 4K Max isn’t hugely different from the 4K, but it does have Wi-Fi 6, rather than Wi-Fi 5, plus a processor that’s 40% faster.
With £15 off it’s a good deal, but not the most we’ve seen Amazon take off this Fire Stick.
JVC Fire TV Edition
Ideal for smaller rooms in the house, this TV has Amazon’s Fire TV interface and comes with an Alexa Voice Remote.
Streaming Media
