How to watch Nintendo Direct liveon September 12, 2022 at 16:19 Tech Advisor

The next Nintendo Direct presentation is dedicated to titles launching across winter, with 40 minutes of news and trailers planned.

If you want to tune in live, then we have everything you need to know.

When is the next Nintendo Direct?

The next Nintendo Direct will take place on Tuesday 13 September at 3pm UK time (BST). Here are the start times for other locations:

US West Coast: 7am PTUS East Coast: 10am ETCentral Europe: 4pm CET

Little is known about the presentation apart from that it will last around 40 minutes containing “information” for titles launching this winter. There are hopes that we could see some news about the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, or even Metroid.

How to watch the Nintendo Direct live stream

You will be able to watch the Nintendo Direct live stream on Nintendo’s YouTube channel – we’ve embedded the stream here for ease.

UK viewers should note that the event will not be livestreamed on the Nintendo UK YouTube channel following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Instead, the video (in full) will be put up on the channel at 4pm BST.

Those in the UK should still be able to watch the US Nintendo stream, which we believe shouldn’t be geo-locked. On the off chance that it is, you can use a VPN such as NordVPN or ExpressVPN to stream it.

As a mark of respect during this period of national mourning, we will not livestream tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct. It will be published as a video-on-demand on our YouTube channel at 16:00 (UK time) tomorrow.

What is Nintendo Direct?

Nintendo Direct is the legendary Japanese gaming company’s way of communicating with both the press and fans. It’s namely for making news announcements for upcoming games.

The announcements can vary, from new gameplay features to new accessory reveals and even release date announcements. Previously, Nintendo used its Direct presentations to unveil the Nintendo Switch, as well as many of its best Nintendo Switch games.

Occasionally there will be a dedicated Pokémon Direct presentation, especially for the franchise, or particular games like Smash Bros and Animal Crossing.
