Samsung announced a bunch of new hardware at its Unpacked event on 10 August, with the company’s foldables taking centre stage.

The new Galaxy Z Flip 4 arguably has the most mainstream appeal, while the Z Fold 4 could be the most accomplished phone/tablet hybrid yet. We also saw the new Buds 2 Pro launch, but it’s wearables that are the focus here.

There are still two models in the Galaxy Watch 5 Series, but last year’s Classic version has been replaced with a Pro variant this time around. Both are premium smartwatches with the specs to match, although the Pro adopts a different design and has a slightly larger face.

After more than two weeks of pre-orders, the Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro are on sale now, and there are a few retailers to choose from. We also have similar articles for pre-ordering the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4.

When was the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 released?

The Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro were announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event on 10 August. Pre-orders went live immediately, before both went on sale from 26 August.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 cost?

The Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro are premium wearables, and their prices reflect that:

Galaxy Watch 5 (40mm, Bluetooth): $279.99/£269/€299Galaxy Watch 5 (40mm, LTE): $329.99/£319/€349Galaxy Watch 5 (44mm, Bluetooth): $309.99/£289/€299Galaxy Watch 5 (44mm, LTE): $359.99/£339/€349Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (45mm, Bluetooth): $449.99/£429/€429Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (45mm, LTE): $499.99/£479/€519

That’s slightly more expensive than last year’s Watch 4 (from $249/£249) and Watch 4 Classic (from $349/£349). The Apple Watch Series 7‘s starting price of $399/£369 is somewhere in between.
